Forres Angling Association Code of Conduct

The Committee and Trustee Representative have issued the Code of Conduct to all Members under which permit is granted.  The Committee (quorum of 9) will take disciplinary action on any Member breaching the Code under any of the following offences.

LIST OF OFFENCES WHICH BREAK SCOTTISH LAW.

ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WILL RESULT IN A LIFE BAN.

  1. Killing of foul hooked fish.
  2. Killing of kelts or baggots.
  3. Non – return of Gravid or Red fish.
  4. Selling of fish.
  5. Fishing out of Season or on a Sunday.
  6. Poaching.

 

LIST OF OFFENCES WHICH BREAK F. A. A. CODE OF CONDUCT BUT NOT THE LAW.

ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WILL RESULT IN A 5 YEAR BAN; SECOND OFFENCE WILL RESULT IN A LIFE BAN.

  1. Being under the influence of drink, disorderly behaviour, Foul language and violent behaviour.
  2. Intimidation of fellow members, River Bailiffs’ or visitors’.
  3. The use of prawns and shrimps as bait.
  4. The use of floats.
  5. The use of lead core lines.
  6. Using sitting bait.
  7. The use of boats or float tubes.

 

LIST OF OFFENCES WHICH ARE CLASSIFIED AS MINOR.

ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WILL RESULT IN A WARNING LETTER.  SECOND OFFENCE WILL RESULT IN A 5 YEAR BAN AND A THIRD OFFENCE WILL RESULT IN A LIFE BAN.

  1. Deliberate damage to banks, fences, shrubs or crops.
  2. Deliberate violation of the two steps per cast rule.
  3. Excess speeding on F. A. A. access roads.
  4. Encroaching on reserved water at Dalvey.
  5. Deliberate littering of riverside, including indiscriminate discarding of nylon line.
  6. Lighting of fires.

 

Note: a) This code of conduct supersedes the rules of discipline detailed in the Murdoch Bequest and the Constitution dated 4th February, 2002.   

           b) Permit Holders are encouraged to give every assistance in the prevention of rule breaking   by informing any defaulter verbally at once and the Secretary in writing as soon as possible.

           c) Letters of appeal should be clearly addressed to the Secretary, clearly defining the reason for appeal.

           d) Outcome of any disciplinary action will be undertaken in a consistent manner.
